Kids Class Opportunities
Similar to the adult class starting back up at the building, we’d like to present an opportunity for younger age classes. This opportunity will depend on the parent’s desire to have their kids attend class and the availability of teachers.
Brian Lair has volunteered to coordinate these classes over the new few weeks.
We propose starting Wednesday, May 27 with up to 3 classes: A class for ages 2-5, a class for ages 6-12, and a class for ages 13 - 18. The youngest age class will need 1 or 2 helpers in addition to the teacher.
Each class will be assigned one of the larger classrooms where tables will be set up to have kids sit separately and maintain social distancing. Stations will be set up outside each classroom with hand sanitizers. Tables, chairs and door handles will be wiped clean before class.
To make this work, we need to determine if there is interest by parents to have their kids attend and if there are enough teachers and helpers.
- Have kids in these age groups and you want them to attend class. Please include the number of kids in each age group above.
- Have an interest in teaching or helping with one of the classes. Please include the age group you want to teach or help with. And, an idea of what topic you would want to teach. Curriculum, at this point, will be up to the teachers.
Teachers and helpers would need to be at the building at least 10 minutes early to prep their sanitizing station outside the door and wipe down the door handles, tables and chairs.
Based on the feedback Brian receives by Sunday, May 24th, he’ll decide if and what classes will be held. He’ll then send out a FlockNote with what will happen (if anything) on Wednesday, 27th.
We will evaluate this opportunity every few weeks and keep the congregation updated.
